Bishop Michael Marshall

Consecrated as Bishop of Woolwich in 1975, Bishop Michael, after ten years, subsequently served as bishop in America as the Founding Director of the Anglican Institute until 1992 when he returned to the UK as Adviser in Evangelism to the Archbishops of Canterbury and York. From 1997 until 2007 he served as Rector of Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square where along with The Revd. Nadim Nassar he founded the Trinity Foundation for Christianity & Culture - an educational foundation seeking to equip Christians to live out their faith in a multi-cultural, multi-faith society. Renamed the Awareness Foundation in 2008, the Bishop still serves as its Founding President as well as being an honorary Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of London. The Bishop retired from Holy Trinity after ten years in 2007 and together with Soon Han Choi he is now based at the church of the Annunciation Marble Arch. As well as helping the Area Dean, Father Alan Moses, presently the Priest in Charge of the Annunciation and Father Barrie Newton with the worship on Sundays, Bishop Michael together with Soon Han Choi is hoping to establish a mid-week ministry (SPA) based in the Annunciation, open throughout the week for prayer, spiritual refreshment and bible study. This midweek ministry is obviously mainly directed to the many people who work, shop, work or stay in the hotels of the area. However, it is hoped that clergy throughout the greater London area will feel able to recommend this midweek ministry to members of their congregations who work in the immediate area.

Soon Han Choi

Soon Han was born in Korea and is now a British citizen. Following his studies in Korea where he gained a BA, and his work for the Baptist church in Seoul, Soon Han travelled to England where he studied for and was awarded an MA in Theology and Biblical Studies from Surrey University in 1999. He has served in a number of churches in London including St Luke's in Earls Court, St Mary Abbots in Kensington and Holy Trinity Church in Sloane Square. He is particularly drawn to prayer and is excited about the challenge and opportunity to expand the possibilities of prayer life in differing traditions through the establishment of a mid-week ministry (SPA) at the church of the Annunciation. Over the past two years at Holy Trinity, Soon established and developed an approach to prayer and praise through a music ministry which is an integral part of this new initiative at SPA.

The many people who have experienced over the past years the ministry of Soon Han, will be delighted to know that his calling to the ministry has now been recognised and authorised by the Bishop of London who has agreed to ordain Soon to the Diaconate at the Ordination in St. Paul's Cathedral at Petertide, July 3rd, 2010.
Soon has exercised a greatly blessed ministry in service and pastoral care over many years both abroad and here in London. More recently, he has begun a remarkable music ministry. Keep Soon in your prayers in these months of further study leading up to his ordination in July.
